| 2005 GALWAY LAKE DRAWDOWN |
| Galway Lake, or the Amsterdam Reservoir, was built to supply and regulate waterpower for the industries in Amsterdam. It was constructed in 1855, and in the next 20 years it was enlarged twice to the present day size of about 500 acres. Later, Amsterdam industries no longer needed the water, and the Galway Lake Association took over ownership. |
